Award for Sing and Sign classes

A company which helps children communicate with their parents has won a national award for the second year in a row.

Sing and Sign, which runs eight classes a week in Eastbourne, at Community Wise and The Bumper Bookshop, won Best Baby Signing Classes 2008 in the awards run by What's On 4 Little Ones, and last year it won 2007 Best Nationwide Activity for the Under-twos.

Every pre-school activity in the UK had the chance to be nominated and voted for.

Fiona Carville, who runs the Eastbourne franchise, said, "We're absolutely thrilled. We have around 70 parents a week attending our classes in Eastbourne."

Sasha Felix, Sing and Sign's founder, is grateful to all of the teachers across the country who have made the classes a success.

She said, "Clearly their teaching skills and happy classes are inspiring parents to shout about their experience of the Sing and Sign approach.

"Thank you too, to all the parents who voted. "Helping babies' communication is the best job I can imagine and this vote of confidence is very uplifting.

"Best baby signing classes nationwide, fantastic — well done everyone."

Sam Willoughby, What's On 4 Little Ones co-founder, said, "We're so proud of all our winners who have clearly demonstrated excellence in their field."
