Arndale Centre suicide bid drama

A SUICIDAL man planning to jump from the ramp at the Arndale Centre car park was restrained by security guards at the weekend.

The man was spotted on the ramp of the multi storey car park at 4pm and eye witnesses say security men talked to the man for some time before he climbed onto a ledge.

They managed to pull him to safety, restrain him and police were called.

A police spokesperson said a 40-year-old man from Hailsham was detained under the Mental Health Act.
