Ambulance crash victim’s links to Seaford seafront

A 45-year-old man who died after his car was in collision with an ambulance on Marine Drive, outside Roedean golf club, on Thursday night (February 28) had links to Seaford.

Gary Tucker, of Longridge Avenue, Saltdean, who once ran Seaford’s seafront kiosks, died at the scene of the crash, which happened at 10.40pm.

The 43-year-old passenger in the Fiat Seicento was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A member of the ambulance crew, which was on an emergency call, was slightly injured but was later discharged from hospital.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the collision and are asking anyone who saw what happened to call 101 quoting Operation Denmark.
