Aaron's ordination as priest
THE ORDINATION of Deacon Aaron Spinelli took place at Our Lady of Ransom in Eastbourne at the weekend.
Twenty-eight-year-old Aaron has been training for the priesthood for a number of years and was officially ordinated at the service.
Born and bred in Eastbourne, Aaron attended both St Thomas a Becket infant and junior schools, St Richard's in Bexhill and Park College and then read law at Cardiff University. He then studied in Rome for seven years.
Hundreds of people attended the ordination service, which was led by Bishop Kieron Conry. A private reception was held at Eastbourne Town Hall afterwards.
Father Aaron said, "It was a wonderful weekend and I have been really overwhelmed by the response from everyone."
Aaron will take up a post as an assistant priest at St Joseph's in Guildford.
