THE LITTLE Chelsea Little Christmas takes place tonight (Friday).

South Street and Grove Road will be turned into a magical winter wonderland for the festive event, which was rescheduled after snow and freezing temperatures at the beginning of the month.

With roads closed to traffic, the evening starts at 5.30pm with Santa’s procession complete with reindeer and the Phoenix Choir from the Central Library in Grove Road.

On reaching the Town Hall, Santa will be conducting a countdown with the crowds to illuminate Little Chelsea with beautiful new Christmas lights before departing for his Grotto where he will be in residence from 6pm, ready to meet little visitors and hand out a few early Christmas presents.

The Grotto is at 8 South Street, near Sunny Foods. Also packing into the night are horse and carriage rides, ghost walks, children’s rides and music and entertainment from Willingdon Dance School, Eastbourne Silver Band and local bands Wreck Central, Regression and YourBESTshot, amongst other attractions.

At 6pm, Eastbourne’s Christmas Shout! takes place outside the Town Hall. Everyone’s invited to join in this mass sing-along and enjoy a fun atmosphere.

Little Christmas, organised by the Little Chelsea Traders Association, is free to attend and there will be free parking in Eastbourne Station Car Park.

Entry to Santa’s Grotto costs £3 per child and individual charges may apply to certain rides and attractions.
