The fox is our friend – let's live and let live
If the fox is around he will deal with real pests like mice and rats. The fox is our friend.
I love to watch the foxes. They live very organised lives and look after each other.
Many people could take a lesson in caring from the vixen who watches her cubs making sure that they all get their fare share of food, and protects them from danger.
The fox is not going to do Mr Wardroper or anyone else one bit of harm. I watched them playing the other day when the mother and her cubs were having endless fun, chasing each other and jumping about. They were a joy to see.
What Mr Wardroper should accept is that the fox is as entitled to walk about the streets every bit as much as he is.
He should realise that the fox may take the view that this land was all his before people arrived and covered the fields and wild flowers with concrete and polluted his drinking water.
The fox nonetheless does not show any rancour or aggression to people for their crimes against wildlife.
They run away rather than confront you even if you are offering them food.
If there is any cull it should be on the barbarians amongst us who when they see a wild animal immediately think that they should kill it.
Try to live and let live Mr Wardroper.
