Roads could not cope with any extra traffic

ASESIDENTS of Eastbourne for the last 12 years both my wife and I strongly oppose any development on the Kings Drive site for the following reason.

As almost daily users of Kings Drive we have seen a dramatic increase in the volume of traffic since we came to retire here, particularly at the DGH roundabout and especially during peak times.

The proposed development of 150 new homes on this site would produce some 300 additional vehicles and the road system in this crucial area is not capable of properly serving the additional traffic the development would generate.

We feel sure our MP will to continue to oppose the development on behalf of the residents of Eastbourne and he is to be congratulated for his representations to the Chatsworth Estate.

However given planning permission has already been granted we fear this ‘green and pleasant land’ will no longer be, in the near future.
