Perhaps I should move to Seaford?

FOLLOWING your recent article on commuters relocating from Lewes to Eastbourne, it has crossed my mind also to relocate from Polegate to Seaford as the rail fares are a whole lot cheaper there for my daily commute to work in Brighton:

The annual season ticket price from Seaford to Brighton is £1,156

The annual season ticket price from Polegate to Brighton is £2,076 – a difference of £920 more!

The annual season ticket price from Seaford to Victoria is £4,064.

The annual season ticket price from Polegate to Victoria is £4,060 – a difference of £4 less!

The journey times and distances are almost identical from Lewes to Polegate/Seaford but I cannot understand why there is such a huge difference in the cost of getting to work from Polegate especially when you look at the price to get to Victoria from both stations, which is almost identical!

I have contacted Southern and am waiting for a reply back from them.

I am seriously thinking of selling my flat and moving to Seaford as the annual season ticket repayment is like having to pay a second mortgage.
