NUCLEAR WEAPON: Twinned with Pyongyang?

Have your say

Andrew Dakyns (“Remember the Roman Motto”, Herald March 5) suggests that our country is “taken note of” because of its deployment of nuclear extermination devices.

A handful of other states also seem to need fissile steroids – noteworthy North Korea for example. We both share membership of a select club of states prepared to commit atrocious war crimes to feel that they amount to something.

What a pity! There is so much our country can take a decent pride in: rich literature, pioneering science, parliamentary government. We invented most organised sports more or less single-handed The list is endless: but I don’t think it would contain mass murder as a cause for admiration.
