MP must face homes truth

Whenever the General Election may be, I suggest Eastbourne considers Nigel Waterson's role in the expenses scandal of MPs.

And we ask ourselves – does he really need a second home? More particularly a second home in Beckenham, Kent – is that any more accessible to London that Eastbourne? Unless things have changed dramatically since I was a daily commuter to London from Eastbourne – often returning on the last train – then Beckenham is not served with a wonderful train service.

This whole question of second homes for MPs and what they claim for them will, inevitably, be a huge factor in the next General Election.

I suggest Waterson – and tell me, just what has he achieved in all his years for Eastbourne? – dumps Beckenham and gets to know his constituents on the daily rattler. The journey time could be spent listening and learning about the town he represents.
