Having read the article in the Eastbourne Herald [‘Traders’ Fears Over Road Safety’], I feel it necessary to raise the following points.
Traffic already came down Crown Street at a fast pace. The parking all the way up made coming out of Star Road extremely difficult, especially as the owner of an antique shop was constantly parking right on the corners of Crown Street and Star Road and also on the road opposite Watts Lame, which at the best of times is extremely difficult to come out of.
The parking in Star Road was also causing considerable difficulties as on several occasions the Fire Brigade was unable to access Crowne House, with ambulances also having difficulties.
Several times on trying to leave Star Road, residents have had to brake sharply to avoid cars etc speeding down Crown Street, while trying to exit the road and not being able to see what was coming down the road.
