Legendary duo deserved appropriate send-off
THE sacking of Garry Wilson and Nick Greenwood is disgraceful. Over a period of 10 years they have shown loyalty to Eastbourne Borough that is unrivalled in non league football.
Their achievements are legendary. They have given their all to serve the club and always behaved in a professional manner sadly now so rare in football.
The results in recent weeks have been disappointing, but the team spirit and attractive style of football has continued to make the matches a joy to watch.
As a fan who has thoroughly enjoyed following the Borough home and away for 10 years I feel cheated.
As an absolute minimum Garry and Nick deserved to be treated with respect and dignity, and with an appropriate send off.
Instant dismissal is an appallingly clumsy way to treat them. Fans have even been denied the chance to say thank you to them for all the pleasure they have brought to us over many years.
Through the Herald letters column I say thanks Garry and Nick for some of the most enjoyable football I have watched in over 50 years of supporting local teams. You deserved better.
