I have found reply prompt

I am writing in response to the letter (Herald January 29) criticising Mr Waterson amongst other things, for his lack of response to correspondence.

I have had occasion to write to Nigel Waterson several times in the past two years, the last occasion being very recent.

I have always found responses to my letters to be very prompt, courteous and extremely helpful.

I should add that whilst I do not feel the need to justify my views, that I currently do not have affiliation to any particular party (political wilderness?), I just speak as I find!!

One further point: with a General Election approaching, wouldn't it make a refreshing change, if the politicians and their cronies past and present spent a little more time telling us what they propose to do for their constituents and the country if elected, and a lot less time indulging in the popular British pastime of character assassination, which conveniently diverts attention away from them and their own policies.

Or lack of?
