I MUST praise of the first-class response and care of our local ambulance and A&E services.
My subsequent experience in the Conquest cardiology unit (I now have a pacemaker) only heightens my admiration for our local NHS hospital staff and facilities.
Quite apart from a new appreciation of the incredible advances there have been in recent years in medical technology and techniques I am now more aware as a recipient and an observer of the significant difference staff can make to patients’ attitudes and recovery by their splendid combination of professional competence, excellent teamwork and the ability to judge what and how to communicate with each individual.
