Eastbourne has got lots of talent
My second chance to hear the Ladies of the Sovereign Polyphony singing group was on Saturday, May 23 when they performed in the spectacularly beautiful chapel of All Saints in The Meads (kindly loaned by Berkeley Homes).
During the six months since their Christmas concert, the group has consolidated its technical ability, and has achieved a distinctly competent level in those essential elements of pitch, timing and diction.
They have also made progress in the sometimes elusive quality of coherence as a choir.
It goes without saying that this could not have been achieved without the inspiration and deeply experienced musical direction of Sue Barrett and the tireless and expert accompaniment of Paul Busby.
