Devastated by this horrific act

TO THE man or woman driving at speed down Hartfield Road in a blue people carrier, at 1.15pm on Friday, February 3 – thank you.

Thank you for fatally running over our beloved family cat.

Thank you for your bravery and courage in failing to stop and see the damage you had inflicted.

Was your need to be somewhere so great that you were unaware of your actions and the speed you were travelling?

That you are blissfully unaware of how this horrific act unfolded right before mine and my three-year-old’s eyes, not 10 feet away from us, as we were preparing to cross this road.

Thank you for the distress and grief have you caused us as a family, and how a young child is now suffering as she tries to understand what has happened to her much-loved family pet, and the gruesome way she met her end.

Thank you. I hope your journey was worthwhile, and you arrived in plenty of time.

D C HENSLER
