06/02/08: Foxes are not cute they're killers
With regards to Trevor's Week of Jauary 16:
Firstly, I would say Trevor and his helpers do a great job attending to deer, swans and other animals injured on the road or caught in fences etc.
But regarding foxes or fox cubs – these are not the lovely creatures they are made out to be, but killers.
Two weeks ago friends of ours were working on their farm.
When they came home a fox or foxes had got in their hens' enclosure and killed nearly 100 of their hens – only seven survived.
Nobody would mind them taking one for their dinner, because we all have to eat to live, but foxes just kill for the sake of killing.
So next time you see an injured fox, ring Trevor, but ask him to give it an injection to put it to sleep because they are not lovely creatures but killers.
I do know what I am talking about, being a retired farm worker they used to kill our lambs as well.
