LATEST: Body found at Eastbourne golf club is missing man

Police have revealed the body found near the Royal Eastbourne Golf Course yesterday afternoon (Monday) was that of a 52-year-old man reported missing by his family at the weekend.

A spokesperson at Sussex Police said this morning, “Ambulance personnel alerted police at 1.25pm after they were called to the back entrance of the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club in Gaudick Road, but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“He has been informally identified as a man who had been reported missing on Saturday (October 24). There are no suspicious circumstances and the matter has been passed to the coroner’s officer.”

A Facebook campaign was launched in the early hours of Saturday morning by the family of Graeme Sanderson who was last seen at 11.30pm on Friday leaving The Lamb pub in Old Town and heading to the Prince Albert.

Mr Sanderson lived in Old Town and is married with two young children.
