The Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity has been given a cash boost by a customer at an Eastbourne vets.

Mrs Knight, who uses St Anne’s Veterinary Centre in Eastbourne, spent the run up to Christmas knitting Father Christmases, which were then sold in all branch surgeries including Langney and Willingdon.

A spokesperson at St Anne’s Vets said, “The hearing dogs do an amazing job being the hearing ears for deaf people.

“Mrs Knight says they are really starting to help children now who are scared to go to sleep at night because they cannot hear if there are any dangers.”

All proceeds were sent to the charity.

“Mrs Knight is now looking for ideas on what to knit for the rest of the year and has already made a start,” said the spokesperson.
