As the town’s youngsters look forward to six weeks off school, Eastbourne Borough Council is reminding parents there is no need to go away because there are plenty of events to keep the whole family entertained.
Eastbourne’s iconic Bandstand kicks off a packed programme of summer holiday events as Kids Party Nights get into full swing every Tuesday night.
The weekly concert for families every is fast becoming a highlight in the summer holiday calendar, filling up the bandstand arena with young music fans dancing to the latest chart hits and family favourites.
Beginning July 28, the addition of the popular family night brings a seven-day-a-week concert programme to the seafront venue throughout August, with other highlights including weekly 1812 fireworks and a Friday night One Direction Experience tribute show.
The concerts join a packed programme of family activities this year in Eastbourne from a summer Pirate School at the Redoubt Fortress to Tyro Lifeguard courses and a new panto-style Treasure Island show at the Royal Hippodrome.
Cllr Margaret Bannister, Eastbourne Borough Council lead cabinet member for tourism, said, “We’ve seen a huge growth in our family audiences here in recent years so we’re offering even more fun this year.

At the Redoubt Fortress, Pirate School opens for new recruits from July 23 with drop-in activities including pirate dress-up, walking the plank, sword fighting tips, pirate language, digging for treasure and mock cannon firing.
