A 45-YEAR-OLD man who successfully battled cancer has raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by completing the London to Brighton bike ride.

Kevin Balsdon, who lives in Westham, started intensive chemotherapy for his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma around this time last year, but has now had three all clear scans and completed the famous 56-mile bike ride from London to Brighton on June 19.

Kevin took five hours to complete the ride and has raised much needed funds for a charity very close to his heart.

He said the Macmillan nurses provided ‘amazing support’ during his battle with cancer and he has thanked everyone who sponsored him to take part in the annual ride.
