Keeping cool at hospital, all thanks to donation

FREEMASONS from Eastbourne have handed over three fans to Seaford 4 ward at the DGH.

The members of Pevensey Castle Lodge no 8318 presented three Dyson oscillating fans to the staff on the ward.

The fans have no visible moving parts and are highly recommended by the infection control department as being a lot easier to keep clean and so safer than regular fans.

The money for the fans was raised through a summer barbecue held by members of the lodge and was a thank you for the treatment of a lodge member earlier in the year. Barry Clark, the Lodge Mentor at Pevensey Castle Lodge, said, “The fans were presented by Peter Smith, our lodge secretary on behalf of the lodge. Peter was a long term patient in this ward following complicated surgery earlier in the summer and this donation is a thank you from the lodge partly for his care and the care of other members who have been nursed there.

“The Dyson fans are bladeless and have no exposed moving parts and are highly recommended for hospital use by the infection control department.”
