Jewellery worth an estimated £25,000 was stolen in a burglary in Polegate on Friday (August 14).

It is thought that someone entered a house in Jevington Road some time between 9am and 5.30pm.

The intruder made a tidy search of the bedrooms before taking several items of jewellery, including a man’s gold Rolex watch, diamond rings and earrings, and an opal ring (pictured).

Detective constable Sheila Bonell, of Sussex Police, said: “Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious people or vehicles in the area on the day of the burglary.

“Anyone with information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 1339 of 14/08.

“Alternatively, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
