Jeff Pyrah was first past the finishing post in the Beachy Head Marathon on Saturday (October 26).
Jeff completed the hilly 26.2-mile course in two hours and fifty-five minutes.
Beachy Head Marathon is a long established fixture in the race calendar and attracts over 1500 runners including overseas participants.
The marathon covers a course that includes 300 steps and 14 gates, passing through Jevington, Alfriston, Litlington, Friston Forest, the Cuckmere Valley and Seven Sisters, including Birling Gap and Beachy Head.
This year, an additional 10 kilometre race was added to the event where hill runners can enjoy a shorter version of the marathon.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, Cllr Carolyn Heaps said, “I am always impressed by the enthusiasm and stamina of the Beachy Head Marathon runners and it was very exciting to see an addition 10k race added to the day. The additional race allowed a wider audience to run the race in stunning surroundings.”
