Investigation begins after serious fuel tank fire in Cowbeech

Firefighters have begun an investigation into a serious fire in Cowbeech last night (November 23).

Fire crews were called at around 10.09pm to reports of a fire in the open.

They found a fire in a tank holding fuel for household heating, which had spread to a house and garage.

Crews from Pevensey, Herstmonceux, Hailsham and Eastbourne were sent to the scene on Cowbeech Hill in Cowbeech.

The control unit from Bexhill was also sent along with three officers.

A fire investigation is due to take place today.
