Geraint Davies was brought in as the acting chief executive of the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust in May 2016 following the resignation of Paul Sutton.

Mr Sutton took a leave of absence from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) in March 2016 after the publication of a report highlighting poor governance of a pilot run by the trust between December 2014 and February 2015.

Geraint Davies took over Mr Sutton’s role in the interim and was due to leave the post on March 31 this year.

However an announcement from SECAmb today (Thursday, March 9) said that Mr Davies had opted to leave early due to personal reasons.

SECAmb interim chairman Sir Peter Dixon said: “Acting chief executive Geraint Davies has decided, for personal reasons, to bring forward his announced leaving date from March 31, 2017 to today.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Geraint on behalf of the trust for not only his hard work and commitment during the last 12 months as acting chief executive but also his wider contribution during his 12 years with the trust.

“I have asked David Hammond, director of finance and corporate services, to take on the role of acting chief executive until our new chief executive Daren Mochrie joins the trust at the beginning of April.”
