Inspired by Reinhardt

IF GYPSY Jazz of the Reinhardt/Grapelli kind is your scene, then you should snap up a ticket for Rythme Futur at the Under Ground Theatre on November 20 (8pm).

For almost a decade, this five-piece band has been playing regular gigs in London, and at jazz festivals in the UK and across Europe.

They play a heady mix of jazz and swing inspired by the Hot Club of France, which featured the great Django Reinhardt.

Their repertoire also includes gypsy and Latin tunes, all performed with the fiery energy and fast improvisational lines typical of Jazz Manouche.

Bassist George Trebar will be joined on stage by two guitars, clarinet, and vocalist Julie McKee. You'll be entertained and enchanted by the improvisation of these brilliant musicians, who always give the sort of 'hot swing' performance that gets audiences on their feet and cheering.

Tickets cost 10, call 737677 or buy them from the Tourist Information Centre or on the door.
