Hub hopes high for independent workers

AN ENTREPRENEUR from Eastbourne is hoping to create a hub for the town’s increasing number of independent workers and freelancers.

Stuart Lambert and his partner Laura Lambert are on the look-out for an empty building to set up a co-working space.

On Thursday (April 19) the pair will be at The Big Sleep Hotel on King Edwards Parade from 8pm where they hope to meet with anyone who would be interested in joining in with the scheme.

The motivation for CoHub comes from Stuart and Laura’s experience of finding suitable office space for their contact centre software company, Qology, which has so far been based in a converted farm building, a serviced business centre and most recently an office tucked away behind South Street.

“All the offices we’ve occupied to date have had one thing in common: isolation” explained Stuart.

“I spend a lot of my working day alone with only my own thoughts and ideas. Sometimes this is a great when I just need to get stuff done, but other times when – I need to get a second opinion on a new idea or a few moments help with a new challenge – it is an incredibly unproductive environment in which to be based.”

A host of people have already signed up to register their interest and anyone who fancies heading down tomorrow night to find out more should visit wwww.coworkingeastbourne.eventbrite.co.uk so organisers have an idea of numbers.

You can also keep up-to-date on the progress and opening plans of CoHub by following @CoHubEB on Twitter or visiting www.cohub.co.uk.
