The loss of the versatile defender, who recently re-signed for the club, is a blow to Hornets’ survival hopes.

Joint manager Anthony Storey described Page as being excellent since he and Cliff Cant took over at the helm.

Storey said: “Jack Page is having to work Saturdays and cannot commit himself to us.

“He has been excellent since me and Cliff came in. He has been really committed and good to have around.

“It’s a real shame that we will be without him for the rest of the season.”

Saul Otobo has also been released, although captain Lewis Hamilton and Tom Gilbert are expected to return from injury for Saturday’s trip to Folkestone.

On their host’s well-know style of aerial play, Storey added: “Hopefully, we have got enough to deal with that.

“We have been competing in every game and that is what the club asked and wanted us to do when we came in to try and seal Ryman survival.

“We are competing in every game we play, but we just need that bit of luck. It will be greatly received if we get is this weekend as we have just got to start winning.”
