Hooked on Laughter at the Royal Hippodrome

THE SUMMER show for the Royal Hippodrome Theatre – Hooked on Laughter – is starting on March 8.

The show boasts comedians, singers and dancers and headlining is Steve Hewlett – although he shares the limelight with some friends too.

Steve is a young new innovator in the world of comedy ventriloquism, an international artist who is a favourite among many theatres and cruise ships around the world.

His ability as a ventriloquist has him ranked as one of the very best, however his comedic talents abound and during the show as well as having some fun with some of his friends he will be roaring his way along The Yellow Brick Road, wiping the girls tears and chasing his shadow, as well as standing tall on five inch heels… all in all Steve is a virtuoso in adaptability.

Joining Steve and His Friends there is a troupe of highly acclaimed performers including the vivacious Georgia Lee, renowned internationally for her choreographic skills. However, with a stunning vocal ability Georgia is an accomplished act and she promises to deliver some Magic Moments, whilst throwing in A Gimmick or two or three and all with the intention of ensuring everyone Get's Happy.

Newcomer Drew Cameron is a stand-up chameleon, combining stand-up comedy with impressions. His originality, unique zany sense of humour and fresh topical material earned him the title Best New Comedian on ITV and he impressed Simon Cowell on Britain's Got Talent.

Husband and wife duo Sam and Vicky, otherwise referred to as Vizage; have over the last decade built up a strong reputation for their modern fast paced and energetic award winning illusion act and for the past couple of years they have also been wowing audiences with their incredible quick change routine. In fact during 2008 they reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent and since then have been in demand worldwide so it is truly a privilege to have them slipping in and out of numerous guises in Eastbourne throughout 2010.

Bubbly and effervescent, Wayne Champagne – or as everybody calls him Champers – is well travelled and well versed in the entertainment industry and has every intention in Letting The Good Times Roll as well as executing some slick Presley moves and creating a bit of mania with Mama Mia. Throughout the show the vivacious Danze Fantazy will be performing with enthusiasm the sizzling dance routines created to perfection by Georgia.

It takes a resourceful team to organise and orchestrate a successful show, with Hooked on Laughter being no exception to that rule. The skilful talents of the ever creative and critically acclaimed producer/director Colin Matthews along with resident choreographer Georgia Lee and musical director Pete Leonard this show will ensure an eclectic mix of variety entertainment that will appeal to all.

The Sound Of Laughter will be on weekly from March 9 until November 3 with curtain up at 8.15pm. Matinee performances are at 2.30pm on Thursday August 5 and Thursday September 9. This show is for all the family and is one not to be missed, so blow the credit crunch and enjoy yourself.
