Five people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after police seized a ‘significant quantity’ of heroin in Eastbourne on Wednesday (July 27).
Police say they found a significant quantity of both heroin and crack cocaine after raiding an address in Dorset Court, Langney Road. They say various items of drug paraphernalia were also found at the address.
A 44-year-old man and a 34-year woman both from Eastbourne, and a 56-year-old man of no fixed address were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug. All were bailed to September 28.
A 28-year-old woman from Eastbourne and a 22-year-old man from London were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin. They were also bailed to September 28.
Eastbourne district police commander Chief Inspector Emma Brice said, “This is another good result in our work to counteract the supply of drugs into the town. We are determined to make sure that Eastbourne is not a place where drug dealers can feel safe to continue their illicit trade.”
The raid was carried out as part of Operation Goliath, an police investigation to tackle drugs supplies in the town.
