Here’s to our pub of the year

The British Queen has been named the Herald’s Town Pub of the Year.

The Willingdon pub was voted for by satisfied customers in this paper’s competition to find the best town and country pubs. The country winner, The Old Oak at Arlington, featured in last week’s Herald.

Angela Cain, manager of the British Queen, received a glass trophy from editor-in-chief Keith Ridley and advertising manager Hayley Scott, and a magnum of Champagne from competition sponsors 720 Taxis.
