Electric vehicles will soon be able to navigate their way around Eastbourne without the fear of losing power, thanks to the installation of new charging points.
With support from East Sussex County Council and other authorities and organisations, 10 rapid electric vehicle charging points are to be installed across East Sussex with one of the first in Herstmonceux.
Placed in strategic locations, the charging points will enable drivers to charge their vehicles within 20 to 30 minutes. There are already more than 30 existing charging points in Sussex including at Waitrose in Old Town, the NCP in Trinity Place, the Wealden District Council offices car park, Hailsham, and ASDA in North Street, Hailsham.
Carl Maynard at the county council said, “This project will benefit local residents and businesses who rely on electric vehicles by improving their access to charging points, but the benefits will be felt by all.”
