EAST Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting three new non-executive directors including one designate post on the Trust Board.
For someone with ‘senior-level’ expertise in the private, public or voluntary sectors, it provides an exceptional opportunity to put those talents to use by making a positive difference to the lives of people in the community and helping influence and shape the local NHS.
Stuart Welling, chairman of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, said, “There has possibly never been a time in the NHS when we need to take stock and plan our future more than right now. Funding in the years ahead will not match the increase in demand for our services with an ever-ageing population while the cost of treatment, equipment, drug therapies and utilities will continue to rise. In particular I welcome applications from women, people from the black and minority ethnic communities, and people with a disability along with applicants from the Eastbourne and Hastings area which is currently under-represented on the board.”
Essential expertise includes current or recent senior-level experience in a complex organisation, ideally with board level involvement, bringing experience of strategic planning, financial control, and risk and performance management.
The time commitment is a minimum of two and half days per month but more typically around three to four days each month and remuneration is £6,096 pa.
Closing date for applications is midnight on February 16 with interviews being held on March 2 or 6. For more details visit www.appointments.org.uk.
The Trust will also host an information session for prospective candidates on February 6. To register contact Monica Green, director of Human Resources, on 413879. For an informal discussion with the chairman, chief executive, or a non-executive director, contact chairman’s PA on 381342.
