A FORMER patient has raised £1,740 for Pevensey Ward at the DGH to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of her treatment at the hospital.

Diane Davey was treated for breast cancer in 2001, and has been raising money over the past year to mark the 10-year milestone.

Diane, who works in the learning and development department at the DGH, raised the money by holding race nights, cake sales and having a swear bottle in the DGH’s Social Club.

In addition to the money for Pevensey Ward, Diane also raised £220 for the Tuesday O’Hara Fund by walking from Hastings to Eastbourne Pier and colleague Mike Bailey raised £670 for Macmillan Cancer Support by running the Brighton Marathon.

Diane said, “I would like to thank everyone for supporting me to raise the money for Pevensey Ward and the other cancer charities.

“Staff in Pevensey Ward are very special people and I would like to thank them for everything they do.”
