A MAJOR public consultation on how adult social care in East Sussex should be managed in the future begins this week.
The consultation on the community care budget is asking for views on proposed changes in two areas – eligibility criteria and allowances for disability related expenditure (DRE). It lasts six weeks until February 16.
More than 15,000 questionnaires and information leaflets are being sent to users of the services, their carers, the East Sussex Residents’ Panel and hundreds of partner agencies and providers.
There will also be meetings with different representative groups and other forums for discussion.
Anyone can take part as the consultation uses the adult social care pages at www.eastsussex.gov.uk/socialcare/
Copies of the questionnaire and leaflets are also available in alternative formats such as Easy Read, audio or Braille.
The results will be available by the beginning of March. The decision on any changes will be made by the Council Cabinet at a meeting on March 8.
