Caroline and Jason met with Marie Curie Nurses, Sally Monger-Godfrey and Lib Wolley at a parliamentary event in Westminster to celebrate the launch of the appeal, which is Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraising campaign.

The MP pledged her support to the appeal and is encouraging local people to help the charity raise more money than ever before by simply giving a donation and wearing a Marie Curie daffodil pin.

The emblem is available from volunteers across the country, or at a host of stores.

“Marie Curie do a wonderful job helping people and their families at the end of their lives and this is a worthwhile cause I’m really happy to support because I know the local branch of the charity does so much superb work in Eastbourne and the surrounding area,” said Mrs Ansell.

“But the charity certainly does need more money to help even more people and I do urge local people to make a donation or even volunteer to help sell the daffodils this March.”

Jason, who is best known for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, said, “I’m delighted to be here with Caroline to help launch Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal. Please help us make every daffodil count.”
