Harbour Primary School headteacher Christine Terrey has been chosen as one of seven teachers nationally to fo to the 2014 Discovery Educator Summer Network Institute in America this summer.

More than 150 people involved in the education system in America, the UK and take part in the prestigious week long professional development and networking event at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

During the event Christine will participate in a number of seminars and hands-on workshops designed to support educators as they use the latest technologies to create authentic learning environments.

In addition, the event provides an opportunity for participants to connect and share resources, ideas and strategies for integrating digital resources into classroom instruction.

Christine said, “I am committed to the innovative use of digital technologies to extend, enhance and enrich learning, and so attendance at the DENSI is very exciting for me.

“I will have the opportunity to share our experiences here in the UK, and learn myself from all the other staff attending from across the USA and Canada.

“I am delighted to have been selected for this opportunity.”

Participation in the DENSI is exclusive to educators recognized by Discovery Education, the leading provider of digital content and professional development for K-12 classrooms, as STAR Discovery Educators.
