A CHRISTMAS Celebration is taking place in Hampden Park on Saturday December 18.
The traders of the village and the Hampden Park Neighbourhood Panel have organised a series of events throughout the day and hope it will become a regular Christmas event. The village also has its own Christmas lights thanks to a donation from a councillors’ fund.
There will be baton twirling, fancy dress, singing from the Hampden Park Infant School Choir, carol singing and face painting.
Sandy Boyce-Sharpe from Hampden Park said, “This will be a first for the village and the traders are arranging to dress their windows in celebration for the season. There are plans afoot to arrange a Father Christmas, a Santa’s Grotto, possibly street entertainment, mince pie evenings and lots more to ensure Hampden Park has a very happy Christmas.
“The churches in the village are organising carol singing and local schoolchildren it is hoped will get involved. Lots of things going on to see and to do.”
