A GIRLS’ volleyball team at Trust High School in Kabubbu, Uganda, built and opened by Hailsham-based charity Quicken Trust in 2006, have become the National Girls’ Volleyball Champions for Uganda.

They go on to represent their country in the East Africa Volleyball Championships starting later this month in Uganda against Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. “This is a magnificent achievement and the team and coaches are to be applauded for their hard work and success,” said Geoff Booker, founder of Quicken Trust pictured on a recent visit.

Both Quicken Trust schools in Kabubbu face food difficulties with prices escalating three-fold in the past three months.

To help Trust High students have sufficient food, donations can be made by cheque to Quicken Trust and mailed to Land Appeal, PO Box 113, Hailsham, BN27 4US or by visiting the website: www.quickentrust.com and following the links.
