Police are hoping to speak to anyone who might have spoken to the family involved in a fire at a nail salon in Hailsham.

On March 4, a fire broke out in the High Street nail bar leaving a 50-year-old man with life threatening injuries. A 21-year-old woman and a five month old baby were seriously injured but have since been released from hospital.

The man remains in a serious condition in hospital and police are waiting for his condition to improve before being able to speak to him about the fire.

Detective Inspector Neil Ralph said, “We are hoping people who visited the nail bar in the time before the fire or who know the family might be able to help us with our investigation. We have ruled out the involvement of anyone else in this incident. The information we have so far has led us to treat the man as a suspect in an assault investigation. He has not been arrested as he remains ill in hospital.

“If you have any information and are yet to speak to us, please make contact on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Arizona. Alternatively contact the independent charity crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.”
