LOCAL clubs, schools and community groups in Hailsham and surrounding areas are taking advantage of a minibus hire scheme organised by the town council.

The minibus hire service caters for the needs of local organisations and is available for one-off and regular use for excursions to various destinations, and can also be hired out to private individuals and statutory organisations in the area at competitive rates for corporate travel, day trips, wedding party transport and more.

The vehicle can carry up to 16 passengers in normal seating mode and benefits include all-age seatbelts, power steering, remote control central locking and front and rear heaters.

It is available for hire on a self-drive basis from just £45 per day, seven days a week.

Deputy Town Clerk Mickey Caira said the minibus provides hirers with comfortable transportation to and from venues and events, as well as providing the means for more isolated groups - especially those without alternative transportation - to get involved in activities outside of the Hailsham area.

He said, “If you plan to travel with more than six people, hiring the town council’s minibus is really a good choice and in terms of administration requires comparatively less effort than hiring from a commercial vehicle hire company.

“Reservations for hire of the minibus are best made well in advance to avoid any delays and disappointment.

“In any event, Hailsham Town Council staff do their best to accommodate close timelines and late bookings.”
