YOUNG people in Hailsham can receive free support, guidance and personal development services to ensure a smooth transition to adulthood at the Connexions youth facility at Info-Point, 1 Market Square.
Through Connexions East Sussex, young people aged between 16 and 19, as well as older people with special needs, have access to a personal adviser who brings together all the services, including free careers advice and assistance with course applications, volunteering and training opportunities.
Andy Joyes, the town council’s youth project co-ordinator, said the Connexions facility in Hailsham has made significant progress towards reducing the proportion of young people not in education, employment or training. He added, “We hope that many more young people in Hailsham in need of such services will be encouraged to take advantage of the help and advice on offer, so please pop in.” The Connexions drop-in centre is open Wednesdays from 9.30am to 1pm.
Appointments are also available, and can be made by calling 01273 473141 or 07905 596116.
