RESIDENTS can find out more about the Town Council’s ‘Hailsham in Bloom’ campaign and its plans for the future at a special open day on May 14.
Details of the various competitions organised by the committee, including the Best Kept Front Garden and newly- launched ‘Hailsham In Pictures’ photography awards, will also be available.
There will be opportunities for residents to ask questions and raise concerns informally with project organisers, and discuss matters relating to recycling and water conservation with Wealden District Council and South East Water representatives.
Public information officer Terry Hall said the open day is an excellent opportunity for people to learn more about the progress of various projects and future priorities relating to town floral displays and other horticultural achievements, biodiversity and local environmental quality improvement schemes.
“Residents can obtain information on the latest developments in the Hailsham In Bloom campaign, as well as the volunteering opportunities currently available. Hopefully the day will also act as an opportunity for committee members to ensure they are still heading down the route local people want them to take.
“It is hoped that there will be a good turnout on the day.”
The public information day takes place in the Quintins Centre between 10am to 1pm. For more details, call 841702 (during office hours) or visit www.hailshaminbloom.org.
