HAILSHAM’S annual Carnival due to be held in 2012 has been cancelled.
Lark in the Park Charitable Trust confirmed the cancellation of the event until a more suitable venue can be found for the fun day.
This year it was thought a fun day after the main procession did not draw enough people to Maurice Thornton Playing Fields due to the location.
Organiser Steve Reynolds, from Lark in the Park, said the event – which has grown in popularity during the past three years – should return in 2013 if a location for the fun day could be found nearer the town centre.
He said: “Lark in the Park and the Hailsham Carnival Commitee would like to apologise for any inconvenience and to thank all Hailsham residents for their involvement in past carnivals.
The last three years have been brilliant and have grown every year.”
Mr Reynolds also thanked authorities for their support.
