Hailsham and District Flower Club - May meeting report

THE MAY meeting saw the club host an inter-club competition with four other flower clubs taking part.

The theme was NAFAS 50th anniversary which was reflected in the competition titles. The beginners class was won by Juanita Bell and the intermediate class by Amanda Willard, both from Little Common Flower Club, and the advanced class was won by Jill Baker from Pevensey Bay Flower Club.

The evening was a great success and a real team effort from the chairman, vice-chairman, who had orchestrated the whole competition, the committee who all worked hard to make it happen, to members of the club who helped out with cakes, plants, manning stalls and supporting the members taking part in the competition.

Next month sees a demonstration by Angela Hyde entitled 'It started with a ...' If you are interested to find out more, come along to the Community Centre every third Wednesday in the month at 7.30pm where you will be made most welcome. Call the club secretary on 840593 for more information.
