AROUND 60 people got fit in the name of charity at the weekend.
More than £215 was raised for Polegate Playscheme at a special Zumba event at the local Community Centre in Windsor Way.
The playscheme is a charity for Polegate School children, and provides a week of activities during the summer holidays.
The Zumba fitness craze, which incorporates latin and salsa dance moves, has taken the world by storm.
The exhilarating class was led by popular local fitness expert Debra Stevens from Kayjay Zumba Fitness and the event was organised by playscheme committee members Jenny Wait and Jemma Orange.
Jenny said, “We had a fantastic session and I’m delighted so many people came to support us.
“Thanks to them and of course Debra, for giving up her time for free.
“The money raised will make a big difference to the children who attend the playscheme.”
