Vicarage Field in Hailsham will come alive with colourful stalls on Thursday, November 27, with a one-off special craft market.
It will be set up to complement the regular Hailsham Street Market which takes place four times a month, offering shoppers yet another reason to visit the town.
Talented local craftspeople will be displaying their wares at the market between 9.30am and 3pm. The event is being organised by the Hailsham Forward Town Team in partnership with Hailsham Town Council.
Products will range from hand-made jewellery to children’s toys and gifts, marble goods to doll’s house accessories, and beauty products to quilts and cushions.
Welcoming the latest specialist market, Cllr Nigel Coltman, Chairman of the town council’s Business Enterprise Committee and of the Hailsham Forward stakeholder group, said, “We’re keen to develop new market events in the town and a specialist craft market gives the ideal opportunity for local and regional craftspeople to get involved.
“The stalls will feature an array of unique and high quality hand-made goods for shoppers, perfect for checking off Christmas gift lists.”
Deputy Town Clerk and Business Enterprise Manager Mickey Caira said, “We decided to hold a specialist craft fair following the success of our children’s market organised earlier this year, which attracted many visitors.
“We’re pleased to be able to support local business and craftspeople again in this venture and have been delighted with the numbers who are coming along to support us at the craft market.”
Pitches for the event are still available but limited, and those wishing to trade at the market are advised to book immediately to avoid disappointment. The cost of a pitch and each 3m x 3m gazebo stall are just £25 per day.
To book a pitch and stall please call 01323 841702 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and the relevant application forms.
Elsewhere, ‘Christmas Cracker’ offers and array of art and gifts this evening (Friday) from 5pm until 9pm.
The event, at Longley’s Studio Barns, Harebeating Lane, Hailsham, is in aid of the charity Demelza Hospice Care for Children.
It supports families across East Sussex, Kent and South East London and was established in 1990.
