A keen runner is setting himself a series of challenges to help raise funds for two charities close to his heart.
Gareth Morgan (pictured) is planning to take part in half a dozen events to help boost the coffers of WellChild and the Alzheimer’s Society.
During the next six months the 29-year-old is aiming to complete the Seaford Half Marathon, Just Walk 40k, The 10 mile Great South Run and the New Forest Half Marathon, to name a few.
The first fundraiser takes place on May 11.
Gareth said, “I have carried out charity work for WellChild and got a very good vibe from them and a good feeling. My nan suffered from Alzheimer’s and I know other people who have relatives that have suffered from it.”
The Polegate resident, who has already taken part in the Heathfield and Hastings half marathons this year is hoping to raise as much as possible and has already been supported by colleagues.
He added, “I have tried to do at least one challenge a month.
“If I could get £1,000 then that would be £500 to each cause.
“I’m really excited about the challenges and really competitive.”
WellChild helps sick children and their families and Alzheimer’s Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
