Advanta’s resident of the month for May has been awarded to Mary and John Stratton who celebrated ten years of organising a monthly quiz to raise money for both local and national charities.

Each month they arrange, write and collate a Supper Quiz at a Brighton restaurant for about 100 people. Over the past ten years they have raised over £36,500 for 27 charities and good causes including Samaritans Eastbourne and District, Chalk Farm Project, Mankind Counselling, Eastbourne Foyer, Kanji Project, Changing Faces and many more.

If you would be interested in joining the monthly Supper Quiz, please contact Mary or John on who would be delighted to hear from you.

The Resident of the Month Award was introduced to recognise unsung heroes in the local community and is jointly sponsored by Advanta Chartered Accountants and the Eastbourne Herald.

Malcolm Toghill was delighted to present Mary and John with the award for their tireless energy and enthusiastic fundraising achievements over the last decade.

As part of their prize Mary and John will also receive a complimentary meal for two at top local restaurant Ridgways in Meads.
